The Battle of Plattsburgh, also known as the Battle of Lake Champlain, ended the final invasion of the northern states of the United States during the War of 1812. When all was lost for the British, a small team sneaked off one of the ships to hide gold that was to be used to buy the loyalty of local Militia.
Recently a journal was found by a Canadian family in an old farmhouse. In the September entries the battle was mentioned along with the scramble to the shore to bury the gold before it was captured. It's location has been protected for generations and marked with secret clues and puzzles to allow the secret organisation that has been protecting it to always locate it. The first clue has was revealed in the journal and is where you need to start your hunt!
