PLEASE CONTACT US BEFORE BOOKING
Due to the current world situation we are offering a Live Text Based Escape Room which will be played over a Video Call.
What is a text based escape room?
A Text Based Escape Room runs like a text based adventure game. Each room/story line has a narrative, puzzles, etc. The basic way to play is that the Games Master reads out the introduction, room description, etc, and then you, the players, look around the room, inspecting objects more closely, telling the Games Master what you would like to do, until you solve all the puzzles and escape.
How does it work?
Games Masters will be running the room using video services such as Skype or Google Hangouts which will allow them to be remote. You'll be communicating through the cameras, speaker and microphone on your chosen device and you should have a pencil and paper handy to keep notes, draw a map, e.t.c ( A white/black board will work better but isn't required).
Players can and should ask for clarification whenever they can. Take efforts to make sure everyone is on the same page with their mental image of the room/puzzles
Players should voice their thoughts out loud as much as possible, it will help you get through the room
Searching in a audio-only format is not about rifling through drawers, it's about players noticing key-words in item descriptions and pairing them together (two things being described as cylindrical for example).
How many can play?
As many as you can fit in your house. The game is for everyone, you could also have friends and family video call in on other devices and join your team.
