It was very much a lock and key escape room. It was nonlinear and you were encouraged to search the rooms very carefully. There were 4 sets of collectibles that you would find throughout the room and it included a optional puzzle for an extra bonus. The Halloween prison flavor was done well, and the room felt spooky but not scary.
I had a blast with my group, we were split up into 2 different cells and had to talk to each other to combine our clues for solutions. We did the optional objective, and got stuck multiple times but never for more than a few minutes. Because of the layout, you could pretty safely ignore a puzzle that stumped you and come back to it later, which saved a lot of time because we could think about older puzzles while doing newer ones. We escaped in 41 minutes, claiming the 3rd place spot on the leaderboard.
